I’m facing the music. I’m getting older. Years ago, I played on 2 different softball teams and 2 basketball teams. Sometimes, I would end up playing up to 4 games of these sports in one day. I had no problems though.
But as I got older, I’ve been battling a strained calf, a little bit of a knee issue and some upper back tightness, which was impacting my high intensity workouts…
… which I really need to keep doing so I can have my weekly (at the very least – bi-weekly) pancakes.
So I’m quickly discovering how important AND powerful your warm up is to reducing injuries and even improve your performance with your metabolic workouts.
Thankfully, I have recently been following a program from my friend Tyler called, “The Warrrior Warm up”.
Let me tell you how powerful these warm ups can be. If you’re like me, you probably already have a warm up routine that you use before you start training, or even a daily mobility routine.
The Warrior Warm Up is a combination of many movement disciplines from yoga to joint mobility, deep breathing to gymnastic skills and more.
It’s also great for when you get up in the morning.
It’s about 50X better than my old warm-up routine.
It’s great during rest days to stay active and improve your workout sessions (you’ll be shocked at how much your performance improves).
It’s simple, easy to follow and doesn’t take long. If you’re looking for something you can plug in and start doing right away before your workouts that will INCREASE your strength, flexibility, mobility, balance and coordination, then use these warm-ups.
The weird part? I used to struggle with my flexibility of the Spiderman Climb, and now I ace it. I’m freakin’ 38, too. In your face “old age”.

Been doing the warrior warmup for over a month now and it’s fantastic. The follow along videos are great. I’ve been amazed by my progress and i can feel a huge difference in my hip mobility and hamstring flexibility. I went from crumpling in a heap trying to do a wall supported handstand to now holding it for over 30 seconds.
The warrior warmup is awesome. I do it on my “in between” days and feel awesome afterwards.
